When you create an account or log in, we collect the information necessary to authenticate you through Supabase. This may include:
Email address
Username
Profile information (e.g. avatar)
Analysis results generated within the service
This data is stored in our database and retained indefinitely unless you request deletion (see Section 6).
1.2 IP Addresses
We do not actively track or store IP addresses.
Supabase authentication middleware may process IP information only as part of normal session handling.
Server logs may incidentally record IP addresses, which is standard behaviour for all web servers. These logs are not used for analytics or tracking.
The newsletter signup form uses your IP address only to limit how many times the form can be submitted from one place in a minute. It is held in memory for that check and is never written to our database.
1.3 Newsletter Data
If you subscribe to the Newjee Daily email, we store the information you give us on the signup form:
Email address
Name, if you provide one
The topic you choose, so the email can lead with news you asked for
The dates you subscribed, confirmed, and last received an email
A record of which editions were sent to you, so you are never sent the same one twice
We rely on your consent, and we ask for it twice: after you submit the form we send one email asking you to confirm, and nothing further is sent unless you click the link in it. You can withdraw that consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email, which takes one click and requires no account or password.
A subscriber account is not a Newjee account. You can subscribe without registering, and unsubscribing does not affect any account you may hold.
2. Cookies
2.1 Essential Cookies
Newjee uses essential session cookies, strictly for authentication via Supabase. These cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the service and cannot be disabled.
2.2 Analytics Cookies
With your consent, we use Google Tag Manager to collect anonymized analytics data. This helps us understand how our service is used and improve your experience.

3. Analytics and Third-Party Tracking
When you consent to analytics cookies, we use Google Tag Manager to track:
Page views and navigation patterns
Feature usage (analyses started, results viewed)
General browser and device information
This data is aggregated and anonymized. We do not use tracking pixels, behavioural advertising, or sell your data to third parties.
3.1 Service Providers
Some companies process data on our behalf so that Newjee can function. They act on our instructions, may not use your data for their own purposes, and are not permitted to sell it:
Supabase — database and authentication.
Vercel — hosting.
Resend — email delivery. Your address is passed to Resend so that a message can be delivered to you. This applies to the daily newsletter and to notifications about analyses you follow.
Resend is based in the United States, so subscribing to our emails means your address is transferred there for the purpose of delivering them.
4. Data Storage and Retention
User Data
User account data (email, username, profile details, avatars, and analysis results) is stored in our database.
This data is retained indefinitely.
There is no automated deletion or formal retention schedule.
You may request manual deletion at any time (see Section 6).
Newsletter Data
If you unsubscribe, we keep your address marked as unsubscribed rather than deleting the record. This is what allows us to honour the request — a deleted address is one a later signup could quietly recreate. You can ask us to erase it outright at any time (see Section 6), and we will.
Subscriber records are retained until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.
The record of which editions were sent to you is kept for the same period and is used only to avoid sending duplicates.
4.2 Cached Data
Temporary cache entries may be created to improve performance.
Cached data automatically expires based on predefined TTL (time-to-live) settings.
5. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data exclusively to:
Provide and maintain authentication
Deliver the core features of the Newjee service
Ensure the proper functioning and security of the platform
Improve our service based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns (if you consent to analytics)
Send you the Newjee Daily email, if you asked for it and confirmed it
Notify you about analyses you have chosen to follow
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. We share it only with the service providers listed in Section 3.1, who process it on our behalf in order to run Newjee.

You may contact us at any time to:
Request access to your stored data
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Withdraw your consent to the newsletter. The unsubscribe link at the foot of every email does this immediately and without contacting us; writing to us works too.
Request a copy of the data we hold about you, in a portable form
We will process your request as soon as reasonably possible.
